What makes the Turret truly self-contained and capable of handling any streaming, podcasting, or gaming task without the need for additional gear is its internal USB hub and high-speed USB-C computer port. For easy audio monitoring, the Turret is equipped with an onboard headphone amplifier. The auto-focus camera captures 1080p HD video (up to 1920 x 1080 pixels) compatible with the latest version of Skype. It has automatic low-light compensation and is compatible with Windows 7 or later, and MacOS 10.6 or later (1080p HD video recording with QuickTime Player; 720p on FaceTime for Mac or other supported video-calling clients).

Given that the Turret is a compact, all-in-one unit, you might expect corners were cut somewhere. Audio is Sweetwater's area of expertise, and we're here to tell you that Marantz didn't skimp in the sound department. The Turret's high-performance microphone is specified with a 14mm-diameter back electret condenser element with a sensitivity of -34dB (±2dB), a max SPL of 132dB, and a frequency response of 150Hz—15kHz (optimized for human voice). For your convenience, the mic preamp is integrated with the microphone gain control on the tower. You can monitor the microphone signal directly while recording or streaming without the latency of monitoring through your computer’s headphone output. The headphone output (with level control) is located on the tower.

A pristine headphone signal is a vital part of the broadcasting/gaming/podcasting experience, and here the Turret does not disappoint. Its high-spec headphone amplifier features total harmonic distortion of less than 0.009%, a signal-to-noise ratio greater than 100dB, and a frequency response of 20Hz–20kHz. Sporting RMS power output of 130mW and an impedance of 30 ohms, the Turret headphone amp will drive virtually any headphones to extremely loud levels, with the world-class clarity and accuracy.

With its ergonomic, futuristic design, the Turret is not only easy and intuitive to use, it looks cool, to boot. The main tower contains the primary controls, including an LED light dimmer (with click/off when fully counter-clockwise), the headphone output jack, headphone volume, mic gain control and mute button, and camera on/off. On the rear of the tower is the high-speed, low-latency USB-C port for output to your Mac or PC, 2 USB 3.0 internal hub jacks, and a 12VDC input jack. The microphone is on a hinged, swing-out arm, so you can get it right where you need it, relative to the webcam, which is positioned at the top of the tower. The camera is surrounded by a LED 100mm-diameter ring light, which is daylight color balanced (5600K), dimmable, and includes cool (7000K), warm (3000K), and diffused daylight snap-on plastic accessory filters.
